Canada 150 - Transcona Short Film Festival

The Transcona Short Film Festival, launched in 2017 as a Canada 150 project, was a new programming initiative by the Transcona Museum that offered a platform for encouraging and showcasing the works of filmmakers of all ages.  We invited Transcona residents and anyone who loves Transcona to participate in this exciting opportunity.

We did it! Thank you to everyone who joined us in Transcona Centennial Square for an evening of Transcona Short Film Festival submissions, Heritage Minutes, and Transcona Museum historical shorts as we celebrated Canada 150. The Transcona Museum would like to congratulate the short film"Hi Neighbour Sam's Neighbourhood" on being voted the People’s Choice Award winner.

This initiative was made possible by the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th, a collaboration between The Winnipeg Foundation, the Government of Canada, and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast. We also greatly acknowledge the continued support of the City of Winnipeg. A special thank you to our supporters Historica Canada, Transcona BIZ, Transcona Short Film Festival submitters, and Transcona Museum Board, Staff and Volunteers. With your help, we had an amazing event under the stars.
