After viewing this exhibit, perhaps you will have a new appreciation for the art and design you come across every day.

Also new on display: Winnipeg 150 Community Photo Exhibit

To commemorate Winnipeg’s 150th anniversary, the Transcona Museum and Transcona BIZ proudly present a captivating photo exhibition celebrating the city's diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods and history. This exhibition features submissions from local photographers and city dwellers alike, each capturing the essence and uniqueness of different neighbourhoods and history that contribute to the rich tapestry that is Winnipeg's identity.

Locomotive CN 2747

Corporate Sponsor: CN

Major sponsor of the CN 2747 Protective Enclosure

CN 2747 is the Transcona Museum's largest artifact.  It was the first steam locomotive built in Western Canada, as well as the first constructed at the CN Transcona Shops in April 1926.  Following its retirement in 1960, CN 2747 was placed on permanent outdoor display in Kiwanis Park (now, Rotary Heritage Park).  The Transcona Museum acquired ownership of CN 2747 in late 2015.  The museum remains dedicated to the ongoing preservation of this historic steam locomotive.
