About the event

What is the Amazing Race Transcona? It's an interactive scavenger hunt using social media - Instagram and Twitter - to find and photograph certain items, places, and clues based on archival materials from the Transcona Museum Archives. Teams will consist of 2 - 4 people (at least one team member need to be 18 or older). The registration cost is $50.00 per team. You will need some mode of transportation to complete, as the race takes place all over the community of Transcona. The fastest team will win the Grand Prize of $200. Be prepared for some twists and turns in the race!

Amazing Race Transcona team package pickup with full race details / rules will take place on Sunday, July 1st starting at 8:30 AM at the Transcona Museum. The race starts promptly at 10:00 AM and total race time is dependent on race participants. The race will officially end at 2:00 PM sharp.

Winners will be announced in the afternoon following the completion of individual team scoring. There will be a Grand Prize to the winners of the race, which is subject to a minimum of 5 team entries.

The Transcona Museum is located on ancestral lands, on Treaty One Territory. These lands are the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. Our drinking water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. We respect the Treaties made on these territories, acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and dedicate ourselves to moving forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.

The Transcona Museum gratefully acknowledges the City of Winnipeg's ongoing support of museum operations and facility maintenance.
