On Canada Day, the Transcona Museum offered the third edition of the Amazing Race Transcona - an interactive scavenger hunt event that takes place all over Transcona.  11 people on 3 teams participated in our event on 1 July 2019 and the competition was fierce as the teams raced around Transcona and the RM of Springfield to find and photograph certain locations based on archival materials from the Transcona Museum Archives.  Locations included Blostein Bay, Archambault Park, the former Oxford Café on Day Street, the CN Campus, Memorial Park Circle, Safeway Kildare, Fuller Avenue and Lake Shirley in South Transcona, homes of famous Transconians (Mel McMullen, Terry Fox, John Ross), and an activity challenge at CN 2747.  At each of the locations, the teams were required to perform a fun task, photograph the team completing the task, and share the image with the Transcona Museum through social media (Twitter, Instagram).  After 4 hours of racing, all teams made it back to the Transcona Museum and a winner was calculated based on time penalties and bonuses.  Below are the final race standings:

Team 2747 = 1 hour, 33 minutes
TBirds = 4 hours, 18 minutes
Team Quakers = 4 hours, 34 minutes

Thank you to all teams who participated in the race, as well as our 2019 supporters. See you again next year!
