Our Educational Programs are based on the Manitoba Social Studies and Science curriculum and are suitable for a wide range of ages.

"Our Community: Then and Now"A look at the development of Transcona and the many changes the community has undertaken in its 100 year history. The program begins with a scavenger hunt in the museum's galleries followed by an in-house presentation using archival and recent photographs to demonstrate how the neighbourhood has changed over time. A walking tour of the community is also available, please allow 30-45 additional minutes.
"Up In The Air"Get up and close at the different critters that fly. Items from the Stephen Quelch collection such as butterflies, moths, beetles and bird eggs are used to educate students about the vast diversity of wing creatures that exists in nature. After the presentation participants create a butterfly or moth souvenir to take home.
"Serving King and Country"Transcona's Hometown Heroes: Explores the experiences of a small, tightly knit railway town that was forever changes by the events of WWI and WWII. Examine the contribution of men and women from Transcona during WWI and WWII. A 15 minute video entitled "Transcona Remembers" is also available.
"From Bugs to Bloomers"A nursery school program for children under the age of 5. Combines elements of the "Our Community" and the "Up in the Air" programs but tailored to a younger audience. Includes craft activities, songs, I Spy visual games and more.
Archaeology NEW! Using an interactive power point presentation students will gain an understanding of what archaeology is, why we have archeologists and how they work in the field.
