Every year you can look for us in the parade Saturday morning and 2013 will be no exception. The Hi Neighbour parade allows Museum staff to once again be an interactive part of the community. After the parade, we open our doors for tours, kid's crafts, and a draw.
Transcona Time Capsule
In 2011, the Transcona Historical Museum had the pleasure of opening a community Time Capsule that was created in 1992. The shell of the Time Capsule was originally an alternator on a CN caboose. This alternator was given to the community of Transcona to mark the completion of Transcona centre by CN Vice President Frank Campbell. Inside are items donated by men and women who helped make Transcona centre a reality. Originally buried and later put on display in the front vestibule of the Transcona Historical Museum, the Capsule was unsealed and opened in conjunction with this year's Hi Neighbour Festival.
